The main direction of the Centre is to deliver ecological education to pupils and to assist methodically the non-scholastic institutions working on this profile in Nakhchevan AR. The Centre started its activity on 01 April, 1970 as the Nakhchevan City Central Young Naturalists Station. On 08 October, 1991 the Ecological Education Centre of Nakhchevan AR was founded on the base of the Station.
